IRCOBI offers different awards and grants related to our European conference:<\/p>\n
<\/a><\/p>\n The Bertil Aldman Lecture was established in 1993 to commemorate Professor Bertil Aldman, a founding member of IRCOBI and its first President for almost 20 years. Professor Aldman was a pioneer in the field of injury biomechanics and was particularly interested in the response of the chest during impact leading to ground-braking research to improve seatbelts and automobile airbags. Professor Aldman died in 1998. Past Lecturers<\/a><\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n The IRCOBI Keynote is a special lecture to highlight a particular topic of interest to the IRCOBI conference delegates.<\/p>\n Past Lecturers<\/a><\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n The Murray Mackay Young Researcher Award shall encourage young researchers to make research contributions to the field of crash injury research, biomechanics and vehicle safety. The award consists of a certificate of recognition, a cash award of 1000 EUR as well as complimentary registration at the following year’s conference. Eligible papers will be judged on the basis of advancement of knowledge, the quality of the research and of the written and oral presentations.<\/p>\n Guidelines Murray Mackay Young Researcher Award for Best Paper<\/a> <\/a><\/p>\n IRCOBI is delighted to announce travel grants to support students and young professionals attending the European conference. A travel grant consists of a cash award to defray travel expenses and complimentary registration at the conference.<\/p>\n Guidelines Travel Grants<\/a> <\/a><\/p>\n The Gundolf Beier Foundation Award is made to a presenting first author and acknowledges innovative research in the areas of accident statistics, accidentology, real life crash testing, occupant safety and active vehicle safety. The award marks work which is likely to have a lasting impact and thus represents a significant advancement for traffic safety. Papers will be judged on the basis of advancement of knowledge, the quality of the research, and of the written and oral presentations. This personal award consists of a certificate of recognition as well as complimentary registration for the first author at the following year’s IRCOBI conference. All relevant full papers are eligible for the award; an application is not necessary.<\/p>\n Past Awardees<\/a><\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n The best presentations are direct, logical, clear, and informative with visual aids that clarify key points in an aesthetic way, all within the allotted time. Making such polished presentations requires time and effort, and IRCOBI would like to recognize those presenters who go above and beyond. Using the IRCOBI app, delegates vote for the best presentation in each session. Those best presentations are recognized since 2019.
